Celebrating Important Milestones in a Child’s Life

Each child is special and precious. It is important to let them know how much they mean to you by celebrating the milestones in their life, whether big or small. We’ve made a list of a few that you and your child may enjoy celebrating.

Celebrating Their Teeth

Teeth are one of the main milestones in our lives, whether they are our first teeth coming in or falling out, or even the day our braces get taken off. First, you may notice that small smudge of white in your baby’s mouth.

This is one of the first signs that your child is growing up. Now when they’ll smile at you, you’ll see those teeny-tiny teeth. In no time, they’ll have a full set!

Once the full set comes in, it’ll soon be time for The Tooth Fairy. For some children, this idea is just as exciting as the Easter Bunny and Santa. The idea of leaving a tooth and discovering a surprise – it’s no wonder they like it so much.

Their First Words

You’ve been waiting and wondering what it’ll be. Some parents like to repeat the same word over and over in hopes of it being their child’s first – others don’t mind what the word is, so long as the child says one. Either way, no matter what the word is, write it down somewhere. Soon, they’ll be talking and talking because their language skills are growing!

Their First Steps

It’s incredibly exciting when babies learn to support their heads, and then their weight – and then, they start crawling! One of the most joyful occasions is when the toddler learns how to walk: those unsure first steps, the stumble, the way they hoist themselves up again. Take a video, take a photo – share it with your friends and family. Their first steps deserve to be celebrated.

Their First Day

Your child has grown a bit. They’re no longer as little as they were: they can walk and talk and voice their opinions on what kind of sandwich and bread they’d like. It seems that in a drop of a hat, they’re off to a preschool or an early learning centre. Remember to take a photo for the books. Years later, when they’ll be finishing high-school, they’ll want something to compare themselves to and it never hurts to have a photo to reminisce about.

Much More to Come!

Children are special, and these memories are all ones that you’ll treasure for many years to come. If you’d like to celebrate other memories, such as your child’s first best friend or first concert performance, consider enrolling them in one of our ToBeMe early learning centres, either in Burwood or Five Dock.
