In exciting news, ToBeMe has engaged Jennifer Ribarovski, Managing Director of JR Education Consulting Services, to work with the leadership team and educators at both Burwood and Five Dock to deliver quality outcomes for children’s learning and development, informed by the latest research and thinking. Jennifer is an internationally renowned early childhood education advocate, a leading early childhood education consultant and staunch activist for every child’s right to quality care and education. In the second half of the year, Jen will deliver a series of professional development sessions for ToBeMe staff, focused on:
The Rights of Children
Informed by the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child, this session will build educator’s capacity to consider children’s rights in the program, to enhance relationships with children that form the foundation for their learning and development.
Guiding Children’s behaviour
This session will focus on how the design of the daily program can support children’s positive behaviour, and will also build Educator’s understanding of children’s behaviour, and their skills in positive and effective behaviour guidance.
Putting Early Childhood Education theory into practice
Research and theory in relation to young children’s learning is abundant, and it heavily influences the government approved and mandated learning framework for education and care. In this session, Educators will learn more about a range of theoretical approaches and implications for their practice.
Holistic Approach to learning
The first five years of a child’s life is when the most significant development occurs, and when 90% of the brain is formed. This is the time when young children are making sense of the world around them, driven by curiosity and wonder. Holistic approaches to learning recognise this and support children’s intrinsic desire to learn. In this session, educators will develop their capacity to design holistic programs that support optimal learning for children in this critical period of development.
Jennifer strongly believes that the value of quality Early Childhood Education and care for children’s learning, development and future success is strongly supported by a sound evidence base.
“ToBeMe touches the lives of a significant number of children and families and the opportunity to focus on quality in practice has the potential to make a significant difference in their lives both now and into the future. JR Education Consulting Services is proud to be partnering with the team at ToBeMe in this bespoke program designed to empower leaders and educators to practice with purpose, putting positive learning and development outcomes for children at the forefront,” Ms Ribarovski said.
Jennifer played a key role in the implementation of the NQF for the NSW Regulatory Authority, Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA); she also has an enviable track record of translating educational theory into practice.
Together with experts in the field of Early Childhood Education at ToBeMe, we are continuously finding innovative ways to offer the best possible learning environment for our children.
