The Australian Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) helps make early learning more affordable by reducing the amount families pay for approved child care, just like ours.
Depending on your family’s circumstances, you may be eligible for a subsidy of up to 90% of your childcare fees.
How much CCS you receive depends on several factors, including:
- your combined family income
- the age of your child
- the type of approved childcare service you use
- the hourly rate charged by your service (up to the Government’s hourly rate cap)
- the number of children you have in care.
Your Child Care Subsidy is paid directly to ToBeMe, reducing the fees you pay.
The Three Day Guarantee
From January 2026, the Australian Government introduced the Three Day Guarantee, making it easier for families to access early learning.
Eligible families can now receive at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight (equivalent to three days per week) for each child, without needing to meet the activity test.
Families who undertake recognised activities such as paid work, study, training or volunteering may be eligible for additional subsidised hours each fortnight.
The Three Day Guarantee means more children can benefit from the social, emotional and educational advantages of quality early learning, while giving families greater flexibility and support.
Who can receive CCS?
To receive the Child Care Subsidy, you must:
- care for a child aged 13 or younger who is not attending secondary school (unless an exemption applies)
- use an approved childcare service
- be responsible for paying the child care fees
- meet Australian residency requirements
- ensure your child’s immunisations meet the National Immunisation Program requirements (or have an approved exemption).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children may also be eligible for additional support through the Child Care Subsidy.
